Nowadays, canola (Brassica napus L. ssp. oleifera Metzg.) is one of the most promising crops. Agricultural lands occupied by canola fields have been considerably increased over the last years. The primary reason of such popularity is possibility of using canola seeds as a source of biofuel (biodiesel). Canola is the crop with high and often unrevealed potential, wich can be realized by efficient plant growth regulators.
Albit action on rape is studied in field trials of Agricultural Research Institute for South-East oblast (RAAS, Saratov, 2005 and 2006), VNII of Plant Protection Ministry of Agriculture RF (Ramon’, 2006) and VNII of Biological Plant Protection RAAS (Krasnodar, 2006 and 2007) and other.
According to data of these trials, canola, as well as buckwheat, is the most sensitive to Albit culture: average yield increase provided by Albit treatments is 5.2 centners/hectare ( 42.9% over control).
For treatment of canola, Albit is recommended to be used as an antidote in mixes with insecticides, herbicides and chemical fungicides. Albit relieves or completely abolishes stress action of these chemicals on canola, that provides saving of considerable part of yield. According to data of All-Russia Institute of Biological Plant Protection (2007), supplement of herbicide, insecticide and their combination with Albit provides yield saving of 16.8%, 19.5% and 28.3%, respectively.
In case of canola, the most efficient way of applying Albit is its joint use with insecticides. The insecticide activity remains intact, but antidote effect of Albit provides considerable yield increase (up to 93 % over control). In these experiments it was found that the joint application of Albit with insecticides provides additional yield of rapeseeds (4,4 ton) or canola oil (from 1.3 to 6.0 liters) of per milliliter of Albit.
Due to antidote action in field trials, Albit increased rape yield by 0.17-1.09 t/ha (in average by 0.39 t/ha). In 2015, with use of Albit, world record of the highest rape yield (6.86 t/ha) in the history of agriculture was obtained in Estonia, on 39 hectares field, by farmer Margus Lepp.
Also Albit increased oil content of seeds by 0.3-1.3 %, oil yield by 82.7-297 L/ha, increased weight of 1000 seeds by 0.08-45.3 g, amount of beans per 1 plant by 6.8-41.8 pcs, weight of seeds per 1 plant by 0.68-3.8 g. It is noted immunizing effect of biostimulant against rape deseases: fusariose (biological effectiveness 48 %), blackspot (biological effectiveness 21-79 %), sclerotinia (biological effectiveness 31-75 %), blackleg (biological effectiveness 50-67 %)
In field trials, Albit provided increase of:
- canola yield by 1.7-10.9 centners/hectare,
- oil content in canola seeds by 0.3-1.3%,
- oil output by 82.7-297 litres/hectare,
- increase of weight of 1000 seeds by 0.08-45.3 g,
- number of seeds per plant by 6.8-41.8,
- weight of seeds from one plant by 0.68-3.8 g,
- stem lenght by 2.5-4.3 cm.
Also, Albit decreases infestation of canola plants with Fusarium wilt (biological efficacy 48 %), Alternaria leaf spot (CE 21-79 %), white blight (CE 31-75 %) and damping-off (BE 50-67 %).
The most effective way of Albit application is foliar spraying (50-70 ml/hectare) in combination with insecticides or herbicides, which might be accompanied with presowing seed treatment (50 ml/tonne of seeds) in combination with chemical fungicides.
